The conversion tools in the NextGate Java Parser and Translator Engine help convert 100% of your monk structures (SSC files) into Java code. The NextGate Parser and Translator Engine also provides the runtime engine to perform the parsing of data. The translator provides the same capabilities that Monk had with respect to assisting interface programmers with a wealth of convenience functions (e.g., data-map, list-lookup, copy-strip, and other operations on the messages). This engine can run in any Java runtime, application server, or integration platform. This means you can reuse your message definitions and do so in the environment of your choice avoiding platform lock-in.
Components of the NextGate Java Parser and Translator:
- ISC/SSC Converter tool - This is a tool that is used by NextGate to convert customer message structures into java. This tool is also made available to customers as a convenience tool for future maintenance of message structures.
- TSC/DSC/Monk Converter tool - This is a tool that is used by NextGate to convert customer's monk code to java. This tool is not made available to customers as the generated java code can be conveniently maintained in an Java IDE.
- Parsing and Translation Engine - This is shipped as a Java library (.jar file) to the customer to be run in an Java environment.
